We took part in the FAI 5-a-side competition in Tullamore on Monday 6th March. Both teams performed really well. Our girls topped their group but narrowly missed out on progressing to the next round when they lost 3-2 in a play-off.

Our boys, despite being unbeaten, missed out on a play-off place on goal difference.

Well done to our senior quiz team who took part in the national final of the CUDA quiz on Saturday March 4th. At the end of a very tight and dramatic quiz they finished 5th, just 2 points behind the winners.  The team worked very hard over the last number of weeks and should be very proud of their achievements.

It felt very spring like today when Cairdeas 3 planted some window boxes. Take a look at the video.

It was an amazing evening for our school at this year’s Tullamore Credit Union Quiz.  Our Junior and Senior teams both came 1st in their competitions. Well done to the girls and boys who prepared so enthusiastically for the quiz over the last few weeks.

Our senior team go forward to the National Final which takes place on March 4th.

It was Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 7th February. Parents can find some very useful resources on the Webwise website.

Well done to our Vex Robotics team who represented the school so well at the primary school competition which took place on Wed 1st February in the Sacred Heart School.

We had a wonderful Grandparents’ Day on Wednesday January 24th. The school was alive with music, songs, poems, knitting and card games.  It certainly was a day to remember.  A big “Thank You” to all.

Our Student Council organised a Christmas Jumper Week to raise money for our local St. Vincent de Paul. On Wednesday they presented Jimmy Fleming with €688.  Thanks to everyone for contributing so generously.

We had a special visitor to the school on Tuesday.  Santa Claus paid a flying visit to all the classes. We think Santa really enjoyed his visit!
