Geashill National School recently held its annual Bring & Buy sale in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. All classes had great fun spending their money on a variety of toys, books, cakes, biscuits and buns. In total an amazing €687 was raised.
On Tuesday 18th December representatives from Daingean St. Vincent de Paul came to the school where they were presented with a cheque by some of the children from 6th Class who had helped organise the sale. Everyone in the school is delighted to know that the money is going to such a worthy cause.
Geashill Christmas Tree Lights

Nearly €700 was raised for a really worthy cause. Thanks to everyone for their contribution.
Greetings to our friends in Jaux.
Recently we received a lovely surprise in the post from our friends in Jaux school which is close to Paris. Our children enjoyed reading letters from all their pupils.
Last week all our classes wrote back to the children and are looking forward to keeping in contact well into the future.

Green School News
We are continuing with our efforts working towards our 6th Green Flag on the theme Global Citizenship: Litter and Waste. 4th, 5th and 6th Classes learned lots about the topic from Colin and Thomas who work with The Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun. Thanks to Offaly County Council for funding this workshop.
We were also visited by Edel from Laois Outdoor Education. She told us all about bees and the amazing job they do.
Percussion Workshop
All classes enjoyed taking part in a percussion workshop run by The Mobile Music School.
Shoebox Appeal
Once again this year there was a great response to the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Well done to everyone who made the effort to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
