Wonderful Work in 1st and 2nd Class
In SESE, we made spinning wheels to show the changing colours of the leaves.
In Art, we used watercolour paints to make blow art monsters!
In Maths, 1st class children made 2D shapes using their bodies.
We wrote some great stories about Hallowe’en for English.
Hallowe’en Fun
There were some scary scenes in all classes today as the children and all the staff dressed up for Hallowe’en. 3rd to 6th Classes danced to Thriller outside the Old School. The fog added to the eerie atmosphere. Special mention to all those who took part in our Green Hallowe’en by reusing or recycling to make their costumes. Our Dress-Up Day raised €110 for Eamon Martin who is travelling to Ethiopia shortly with the charity Gorta. Thanks to all who contributed.

Cairdeas 2
We made a Jack O Lantern in school.
Lunchtime Basketball League
After weeks of matches our basketball league came to a conclusion at lunchtime today with a very exciting final between the Chicago Bulls and the L.A. Lakers. In the end Chicago won on a scoreline of six points to two. Well done to both teams for reaching the final and playing some really good basketball. All eight teams that took part improved their skills in every match and really enjoyed the competition. Thanks to Ms. Walsh for organising and refereeing all the matches.
